The Library provides wireless Internet that can be used by anyone with a wireless-enabled laptop. You do not have to be a patron. You should know how to connect your own laptop to a wireless network. There may not be anyone at the Library who can provide technical assistance. Your laptop may display a number of Library wireless networks; you can connect to a network if it has an “unlocked” symbol (an open lock) next to it. You don’t have to enter a password to connect to a network, and this means that the network is not secure. This is not a problem unless you need to transfer confidential information, such as passwords or credit card information, in which case you may want to wait until you have access to a secured network.
