My review of this book: I really enjoyed this boko because I was always wanting to read more and more. I really liked it because the events in the book were described well enough so that I could understand them. I also liked that the author wrote what Matt was thinking so that you could relate to him and understand what he thought. I also thought that it was spectacular how realistic the characters were. They actually had normal feelings. Lastly, I really liked where the setting was because it makes sense and is really interesting.

My review of this book: I would recommend this book to many kids around my age because I thought the book was exciting and well-written. I think it was exciting because of all the events that happened in the book to make it so good. I thought it was well-written because it described all the events and everything that happened so you could make a mental picture of what it looked like. The characters in the book were great because they were actually realistic instead of characters that can do really strange things.

My review of this book: This book I thought was pretty boring because not much happens during the book. I also thought the author should change the setting around in the middle because I thought that it was getting old. The only part I liked was when there was a hurricane because it caused a lot of commotion. I would not recommend this book.

All in all, The Cay is a great book.

Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli

Genre: Realistic Fiction
Book Summary: Jeffery Magee is heartbroken and torn between his parents, so he runs away and sleeps with the zoo animals. With his friends and family moving through so much he settles down, now known as Maniac Magee.
Rank (0-5): 4
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Yes
My review of this book: Jeffery may be disappointed, but I disagree with his running away. I don't believe that he found a family to take him in. His friend, Amanda was very nice to let him stay, but with racism present, it was awkward because Amanda was black and Maniac was white. Either way both sides knew him for his crazy running-thus his name. Maniac Magee was a very good book.

The book was very good and I would definetely read it again.
