My review of this book: I thought this was a good book but some parts of the book were scary, like when she was kidnapped by a guy who works at a burger joint that her and her friend go to everyday. Her friend had told her that they should try a different place but she didn't listen and then she was kidnapped.

Something Rotten by Alan Gratz

Genre: Mystery
Book Summary: Horatio Wilkes is visting hid friend Hamilton Prince in Denmark, Tennessee. Hamilton's father had been murdered- poisoned, and the killer is still at large. There are plenty of suspects who all have motives, means, and opportunity. Denmark, Tennessee smells aweful and it's not judt the polluted river.
Rank (0-5): 4/5
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Yes
My review of this book: "Something Rotten" by Alan Gratz is a great mystery. And it's much better in several ways than big series mysteries like Hardy Boys. The author sets the stage for an enticing, compelling story. And this isn't a novel for third graders. It's intense!! I was really interested in this book because Horatio is a normal teenage, not some amazing sleuth, who cracks codes and solves mysteries in the blink of an eye. This is a modern day telling of "Hamlet" by William Shakespeare.
