Alone in the Caves by Eleonore Schmid

Alone in the Caves by Eleonore Schmid

Summary: The whole family-Father, Mother, William, and Wendy were going on a walk in the forest. William and Wendy asked their father if they could go explore a cave all by themselves. When they get in the cave, William looks at the walls using a lantern to see. He finds all types of fossils in the walls. Then suddenly the lantern goes out and William and Wendy are lost in the cave. Luckily, the lantern goes back on and their vision is restored. They hear a "splish, splash" sound and follow it to find a lake. Finally, William and Wendy had found their way out of the cave just in time for a picnic with their family!

Genre: realistic fiction

Would you recommend this book to a friend? no

Review: I would not recommend this book to a friend because I hated the pictures. The pictures really did not have enough detail in them to convey the message of the story. In the beginning it said the whole family was there but in the picture it showed only the father, Wendy, and William. Where did Mother go? You only see her at the end of the book. And there were no interesting facts. I would rate this book at two because I did not like the pictures and it really did not explain what was going on in the story!
